Archipelagic Human-Machine Communication: Building Bridges amidst Cultivated Ambiguity

In this commentary, I call for maintaining the archipelagic character of human-machine communication (HMC). Utilizing metaphor archipelago or a chain connected islands indicates that HMC entails variety differing in shape, size, location, and proximity to one another. Rather than aiming conceptual unity definitional homogeneity, embracing cultivated ambiguity related key concepts. Ambiguity sense allowing these concepts be flexible enough explored different contexts. Cultivated demanding resonance across individual studies theoretical lineages allow cumulative collaborative theorizing. My hope is scholars can continue build bridges traverse paradigmatic, methodological, theoretical, technological HMC.
